Next Gig Steve TilstonSaturday 15th June Great Northern Railway Tavern £12
He’s been described as “a complete guitarist,” “a singer songwriter of rare talent” and “absurdly accomplished.”
He’s toured with John Renbourn’s Ship of Fools, traditional singer Maggie Boyle, in WAZ!, with Maartin Allcock and Pete Zorn, Ballet Rambert, A Transatlantic Song-Swap with Brooks Williams and with his daughter Martha.
He’s the writer of the classic The Slipjigs and Reels, The Naked Highwayman and Here’s to Tom Paine and his songs have been covered by a who’s who of the folk scene.
His career was marked by the release of Reaching Back a 5-CD boxed-set retrospective, but not one to stand still and with “Madame Muse” at his heels Steve is “reaching forward” with a new album “The Reckoning” out now; and he’s also published a novel. Celebrating 40 years in the business - he’s on as great form as ever.

The Kalamazoo Klub was started thirteen years ago by two local musicians, Paul Alcantara and Guy Simpson. They had been playing in folk and acoustic clubs in London and the South East for years and decided that North London needed a music venue that would bring top quality, live acoustic artists to the area from all genres of music.
The Kalamazoo Klub has, in the years since, attracted some of the most famous names in acoustic music, from Bert Jansch who was the first artist to appear, Martin Carthy, Robin Williamson and John Kirkpatrick through to more diverse artists from the worlds of folk, celtic music, Blues, flamenco, Country and even Chinese classical music.
